I'm Home

 

 

I'm Home is the second chapter of the ninth volume and the 36th chapter overall.

 

Summary

 

 

Titans are discovered in the southern provinces. Four messengers are immediately dispatched to the major wall towns. The next scene shows Mike evacuating a village as Titans have been southwest of the village. Pixis is informed thatTitans have appeared. The scene switches to the North Squad which spots Sasha's village in the distance.

 

 

Sasha reminisces about the time she spent with her dad where she's eating emergency winter food supplies to her father's dismay. They get into an argument about the number of people encroaching on their forest. Sasha feels that the people should leave. Her father, however, is more understanding and thinks they should give up their clan's hunting tradition. This appalls Sasha since it would mean giving up who they are. Her dad would rather adapt as it means survival for him and the clan.

 

 

Back in the present Sasha spots Titan footprints in the dirt and is shocked that they've made it this far into human lands.

 

The next scene is a small building with a 3 meter Titan eating a child's mother. The Titan continues eating as the kid sits helplessly on the other side of the room. Sasha sees this, grabs an axe, and heads into the house. She swings the axe and hits the back of the Titan's neck. Unfortunately the attack doesn't work. She grabs the child and runs toward her horse. Her horse, spooked, takes off leaving Sasha and the child to fend for themselves.

 

The Titan just leaves the building as Sasha has a flashback where Ymir is mocking her for talking the way she does. Ymir tells Sasha that she should speak as she normally does because there's nothing wrong with being yourself. Kristatells Sasha the same thing as Ymir.
